What to expect
Preparing for Your X-Ray
Most X-ray exams require little or no preparation.
You may be asked to:
Remove jewelry or metal objects.
Wear comfortable clothing.
Inform your technologist if you are or may be pregnant.
Bring your photo ID, insurance card, and physician's order.
1. Check In
Arrive approximately 15–20 minutes before your appointment and complete registration.
2. Preparation
You may be asked to remove jewelry or metal objects and wear a gown depending on the area being examined.
3. Your X-Ray Exam
Our technologist will position you for the images and may ask you to remain still or briefly hold your breath. Most X-ray exams take only a few minutes to complete.
4. Results
Your images are interpreted by a board-certified radiologist, and the report is sent promptly to your referring provider.
